It has been a very long decade. It is my decade. The decade of my first years as an adult. I also realized that this was a crappy decade. So many things happened this decade and all the big events seemed to be bad things. Even with all of these things happening I hold on to my optimism. I hope that the next ten years goes much better but we never know what will happen...

Updates about Rolfed
Well I have been spending a lot of time in my studio lately. I am so happy to have the time to come down to the studio and work the night away. It is so relaxing compared with just a few weeks ago with school going on and not having enought time for anything at all.
So these days at me studio have been spent consuming lots of tea and listening to lots of NPR on my ipod while creating artwork. I have been backed up with many episodes of Wait Wait and this American life and it is sad that I have already exausted my surplus. I now work my way through about 20 episodes of fresh air that I have stocked up on.
As for the artwork I have been working on I have been a still life painting machine. I have 8 still lifes that I have laying around the studio waiting to dry. They are only small paintings some 8x10in and others 11x14in but they are sprawled out about the floor. Still lifes are great practice and I love doing them. I am looking for interesting color combinations as well as honing my painting abilities. This is all so that I can finally finish up my big fish heads on a golden platter painting thats been on my easel for many months.
Alas I have to call it a night and head on home for some sleep. If only I didnt have a day job to go to early tomoro then I would keep on painting :) I shall bring you all pictures of all the still lifes that I am doing very soon.

269 Persimmon Tale
Some may ask how is this a drawing and not a painting? Well I post up this still life today to adress the question of what separates drawing from painting? What does everyone think? Is there a difference and if there is what separates the two diciplines?
For this I use a drawing medium which is pastels but I approached in in a painterly way by seeing planes of color in relationship to one another. For me there really is no separation from painting and drawing. Both are ways to express an idea. Many times I use a combination of mediums that makes it difficult for me to categorize what mode of creation the final work falls into.

267 Presents From My Younger Years
These are some of the most used things I got as presents from when I was younger. First of all underwear, I used these things almost everyday... Then my hidden temple board game. This game is so awesome. You try and retrieve the jewels from the mouth of the giant stone idol. When yo upress his head he shakes the bridge and if you are on it you can fall off easily. Too bad I didnt have anyone to play it with so I had to go solo on many missions. Third is my nerf gun. It served as a very useful tool in pestering my pets and parents. Then finally is my Sega Genesis. I spent so much time playing this game. I only had two games for it so I was a master at them. Ah yes those were the good ol days :D

266 Christmas Wishes
These are some of my christmas wishes when I was a little child. Needless to say I never received these wishes. When I was little all I ever wanted was a ligh saber, a laser gun, hotdog making machine, robot and some super powers. Is that so much to ask santa for??? As I grew older and the horrible truth about Santa Claus was revealed to me I learned to ask for more tangible gifts like board games. That is when my christmas wishes started to come true. I still wish that someday I will receive some of these things.
On a side noted I started to draw the robot, laser gun and dinosaur as if I were to draw them when I was little. Drawing like this is a very fun experience. :) Merry Christmas to all and Happy Holidays as well :D I hope that everyone has plenty of joy to go around!!!

263 Anti Bacterial Wipes
Everywhere there are anti bacterial wipes or lotion being offered to the public. These containers are a breeding ground for bacteria that everyone is trying to get rid of. Everyone touches these containers and they touch it when their hands are dirty and in need of sanitizing. So really everyone is just picking up more and more germs. The wipes dont even kill a hundred percent of the germs. hmm.

262 Death of My Moleskin
So yesterday I accidently left my moleskin idea book in my pocket and did a load of laundry. The poor thing was shredded to pieces. It was my second Idea book. I had completely filled out one notebook and just started a new one. I lost 20 pages of ideas so I guesse that is better than a full 200 pages. There were some good ones in there though. Moving on. Today I got my replacement and I decided to try out a new brand. Its called ecosystem. They make a good pocket sized notebook for carrying around as well. The new notebook is made of 100% post consumer recycled paper. I cant wait to get some Ideas down on it :D
